Water Light Festival
When? In May
What’s it all about? Water plays an important role in Brixen’s past and present. Each year, artists from the region and all over the world take the opportunity to create artworks related to water and show bridges, fountains, rivers, and other watery venues in a whole new light.
Christmas market in Brixen
When? From the 1st Sunday of Advent to 6 January
What’s it all about? In Brixen’s cathedral square, traders and caterers from the region offer everything you need to get into the Christmas spirit. Presents, delicious treats to eat and drink, and handicrafts – you’re sure to find just the thing for your Christmas celebrations here.
Light & Music Show COLORS. A homage to peace
When? At Christmastime from 24 november to 7 january
Brixen Tourism presents the light and music show “COLORS. A Homage to Peace”. Also this year the lighting effects will be produced by the French light artists Spectaculaires. Musical highlights will be provided by a children's peace choir, consisting of young singers from all twin towns of Brixen under the direction of conductor Stephen Lloyd. The choir will sing live on the premiere weekend.
Bread and strudel market
When? The first weekend in October
What’s it all about? Master bakers from all over South Tyrol traditionally come together in October in front of Brixen cathedral and show off their superlative baking skills. Sample bread, strudel, pastries, and cakes, either on their own or with delicious fillings. Our tip: Bring a shopping bag, buy some of the tasty treats, and give your loved ones back home a delectable souvenir.
Törggelen
When? In October
What’s it all about? Valle Isarco/Eisacktal is the heartland of Törggelen indulgence. As soon as the wine harvest is over, traditional delicacies are served at wine taverns and farm inns: Schlutzkrapfen ravioli, chestnuts, Knödel dumplings, barley soup, meat platters, and much more. Tuck in and enjoy!
